The Ministry of Science and Technology celebrates 11th May as National Technology Day every year. The day is regarded as a symbol of quest for scientific inquiry, technological creativity and the translation of that quest in the integration of Science, Society and Industry. The day is celebrated to commemorate caarying out successful nuclear tests at pokharan, test flying of first indegenous aircraft 'Hansa-3', and test firing of Trishul missile in 1998.
