The Institute has been able to develop a bench scale technology for the production and purification of therapeutic grade natural streptokinase, a blood clot-dissolving drug. IMTECH scientists successfully cloned streptokinase gene in E. coli, Over expressed it and later on design an efficient purification system for getting the pure streptokinase at bench scale level. IMTECH has licensed this know how to a large private sector drug company.
