This Program's aim is to mitigate the problems associated with HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and other neglected diseases under Infectious Disease Biology Program to reduce the heavy burden of infectious diseases. It solicits a wide array of projects on bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal diseases spanning the spectrum from the basic biology of human pathogens and their interaction with human hosts, through translational and clinical research toward the development of new and improved diagnostics, drugs, and vaccines for infectious diseases
