About
The objective of this scheme is to develop Carbon Free Islands by phasing out use of diesel for generation of electricity and to contribute to the National Action Plan on Climate Change and Greening of the Islands along with reduction in cost of electricity generation. The scheme is being implemented through Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) viz., NTPC, NLC, REIL, SECI etc. on Build, Own and Operate (BOO) basis.
