About
Tracking the changes in the virulence pattern of Puccinic graminis tritici through pathotype analysis, surveying, monitoring; pathotype maintenance and supply of inocula to wheat rust researchers, exploring black rust resistance in advance varietal trial entries of wheat and barley and other Breeders material, exploring genetic diversity analyses and host pathogen interactions in wheat rusts, and maintaining repository of 30 black rust pathotypes in active collection ,cryo-preserved form and supplying inocula elsewhere in India.

Regular monitoring of wheat black rust; Identified new pathotype of wheat black rust in India with virulence to Sr25; Thirty pathotypes of P. graminis tritici are being maintained in pure form and inocula supplied elsewhere in India.
