Project Overview

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of physical devices connected to exchange information and make decisions based on real-life data over the Internet. However, IoT devices often collect sensitive personal and business data, making them vulnerable to attack and data breaches. Securing IoT data requires a multi-faceted approach involving encryption, authentication, network security, and user education. Blockchain technology has gained popularity due to its decentralized nature, making it a promising solution for various industries, including healthcare, supply chain management, and voting systems. The self-sovereign identity concept emerged in response to this issue, allowing individuals to own, control, and share their personal information securely and selectively. Cryptographic primitives are required for IoT data privacy concerns, and these primitives form the building blocks for various cryptographic protocols and procedures. The proposed work introduces a decentralized and economically efficient framework for secure data sharing using technologies such as the InterPlanetary File System IPFS, Blockchain, Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-interactive Arguments of Knowledge Zk-SNARK, Proxy re-encryption PRE, and InterPlanetary File System IPFS. The framework employs Zk-SNARK to verify the legitimacy of proxy re-encryption key computation and the Schnorr ID protocol to ensure the privacy and security of IoT data sharing.
