Project Overview
Objective 1. Low cost Automation of drip irrigation 2. Low energy consumption 3. Portable and easy to install Methodology Transistor based switching circuit will be designed and fabricated, the base of frontend transistor will be connected through sensor for auto-operation after calibration process. A rheostat connected at base to VCC will be used for setting of moisture content for different crops. The circuit will operate a relay which in turn will control water pump for irrigation purpose. A resistive sensor will be developed by wrapping metal strips around insulating material preferably non sticky plastic, the metal rings will be connected to two low resistance wires for external connections. For advanced and remote operation the circuit will be imbedded with Arduino Outcome The low cost gadget can be installed in any laid drip system and can be adopted by any marginal farmer. Applications Can be used for protected cultivation inside polyhouse or outside in open field
