About

It is a commercially viable generic technology to process fresh spices to make essential oil and spice powders. By processing fresh ginger, 30 per cent more yield of ginger oil with all aroma constituents that impart fresh flavour could be obtained. Other advantages were labour and energy savings by 20 per cent.

Outcome / Output

Processing right from harvesting which is ideal for climatic conditions of North Eastern States, Fresh spice processing has the advantage of high-quality products with fresh aroma and better yield, Employment opportunities for the rural population and income generation to farmers, The process is green and no usage of toxic chemicals.
