Finger millet or ragi is one of the popular minor cereals cultivated for food in several parts of South-East Asia and Africa. In India it is cultivated in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Chattisgarh and Uttaranchal.
