Sequential Toxic-anoxic Bio reactor (SOABR) Technology for Reduction of Primary Chemical Sludge in Wastewater Treatment

Implementing Organization

Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI)

About

The reactor can able to simultaneously remove colloidal and suspended particles with very minimum sludge production. The reactor comprises of oxic and anoxic zones. The oxic zone removes the suspended particles by interception method and anoxic zone digest the solids scavenged by the oxic zone.

Outcome / Output

Low foot print requirement. Low electrical energy consumption. Low operation cost Removal of suspended solids with minimum production of sludge without addition of any chemicals. TSS removal efficiency of 92±4. 74% of sludge minimization compared to conventional treatment. Operational cost is much lesser than the conventional technology as no need of any chemical dosage required.
