The application of the nanocomposite is as a load bearing synthetic bone graft. The compressive mechanical strength of the nanocomposites is in the range of 2-12 MPa.

The product is a novel three dimensional load bearing polymer- hydroxyapatite nanocomposite. It has been synthesized through biomimetic route, The process is in situ, simple and cost effective, It does not involve any toxic cross linker and works at near ambient conditions.
