Outcome / Output
Cry1EC is a novel and patented endotoxin. It is most effective protein for the control of S. litura. It is also effective against P. Gossypeilla, Cry1EC-GM cotton is resistant to two cotton pests S. litura and P. Gossypiella. BollGardII GM cotton varieties no longer provide resistance against these insects, Cry1EC-cotton technology can fill the gap. Cry1EC-technology provides environmentally safe and economically competitive alternative to chemical pesticides.
