Call for Proposals 2026: DBT, ICMR & SNSF Joint Research Projects

About

The joint Indo-Swiss call promotes interdisciplinary research projects under the One Health framework, which emphasizes a holistic, collaborative approach recognizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, vegetal, and environmental health. The aim is to achieve a sustainable balance among these areas, fostering global well-being through coordinated actions across various disciplines.
Research proposals must adopt a One Health perspective by integrating at least two of the three domains: human, animal, and ecosystem. Collaboration among sectors like public health, veterinary medicine, environmental sciences, and agriculture is essential. Proposals should detail how integrated concepts, data, methods, or interventions will be utilized and emphasize the benefits of Indo-Swiss collaboration.

Eligibility Criteria :

1. Eligibility criteria in Switzerland:
Applicants can propose to the joint bilateral call even if they hold or have applied for another SNSF grant. JRP grantees may submit proposals to all SNSF funding schemes during their JRP funding period, as long as there is no significant thematic overlap. This call does not conflict with SNSF's national project funding restrictions outlined in Article 13. Ambizione grantees should contact the SNSF office to verify their eligibility.
2. Eligibility criteria in India: DBT and ICMR: a) Any Indian National holding a regular position in any Indian academic and scientific research institutions (Govt./Private) may apply. This call is open to all applicants eligible for Government of the Republic of India funding. The research institutions must be recognized by DSIR as aScientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO).
b) Number of proposal submission for Indian investigators as PI is limited to one proposal while they can involve as Co-PIs in maximum of two proposals.
c) Regulatory and ethical matters should be followed as per Govt. of India norms.
