Council of Scientific and Industrial research (CSIR)

Established in 1942, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is an autonomous organization under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. As one of the world's largest publicly funded research and development organizations, CSIR drives scientific and industrial innovation through a nationwide network of laboratories and research institutions.

CSIR conducts multidisciplinary research across a wide spectrum of science and technology, including aerospace, chemicals, life sciences, biotechnology, genomics, pharmaceuticals, mining, environmental science, materials, energy, and information technology.
