About
The state climate change centre in Ladakh will serve as a multi-stakeholder platform, coordinating with line departments on various missions. It will use robust MIS data to assess weather variability and projections, updating local climate knowledge and developing models. The centre aims to build human capacity, generate resources, and facilitate interfacing with national and international agencies to reduce vulnerability, preserve ecosystems, and enhance resilience. It will develop robust monitoring, reporting, and verification infrastructure, develop project proposals, and develop an e-learning system for active participation in ecosystem development, adaptation, and mitigation interventions. The project will last for five years, with financial implications of Rs 8.386 Crores.
