About

Objective: Validation of performance efficiency of newly developed flotation reagents at pilot/commercial scale plants (field trials). Enrichment of sillimanite grade from 40-55% to 85-90% using newly developed eco-friendly flotation reagent. Flotation of low grade limestone to obtain a concentrate of = 5% silica and = 2% MgO for cement manufacturing using newly developed eco-friendly flotation reagent.

Summary: Under FTT (4M theme) project, eco- friendly reagents for flotation of sillimanite, coal, limestone and iron ore fines were developed. Laboratory scale studies using these reagents showed better and promising results in comparison with those being presently used in the industry. To validate the laboratory scale results at commercial scale, the proposal intends to extend these studies to field trials at pilot and commercial scale operating processing plantswith an objective of commercializing the developed flotation reagents.
