About
The goal of the proposed project is to synthesis of chiral nanostructures using Gemini surfactants for asymmetric catalysis. Ideally, such materials will be designed and used under heterogeneous conditions. In order to enhance the enantioselectivity in asymmetric catalysis developed so far, an interdisciplinary cooperation between two fields’ of organic and inorganic materials provide high enantioselective compounds through asymmetric catalysis.
The design and synthesis of chiral linkers (chiral quarternary salts) needed for the formation of chiral materials will be the prime task!. It is clear that the problems to be solved in this field will present challenges for a couple of generations of researchers to come. Nevertheless, the field of asymmetric nanocatalysis will dramatically change the way organic molecules are made in academia and boosting the efficiency of chemical processes, thus rendering chemistry economically and ecologically more attractive and greener.
At the end of the project the chiral nanostructured materials may be used in the continuous flow reactors with large scale. With these results we are able to design the continuous flow rector and perform and optimize fixed bed reactors for continuous process for asymmetric fluorination reactions. The developed catalyst systems potentially alternative to the commercially available homogeneous systems will be extended to other reactions.
