About

The sustainable conversion of carbon dioxide (CO₂) to value-added products such as fine chemicals/fuels is a challenging task. The design of pincer ligands with desired donor atoms and the resulting pincer complexes can be effectively utilized for the activation of CO₂. The structural properties of ruthenium pincer complexes relating to the catalytic applications in CO₂ utilization will be explored. This proposal deals with design and synthesis of pincer complexes for the catalytic synthesis of acrylate derivatives, and heterocyclic scaffolds utilizing CO₂. Using the pincer complexes, catalytic transformation of carbon dioxide into other fine chemicals will be developed.
